The Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery

Ellsworth Dairy Cooperative is based in the Heart of Wisconsin's Dairyland in the town of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, and was proclaimed the "Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin " by Governor Anthony S. Earl in 1984. Our 450 proud dairy farm family owners live near Ellsworth, throughout Wisconsin, and into Minnesota.

Pierce County Economic Development Corporation (PCEDC): Executive Director Position

SUMMARY

Perform at a high level the leadership and management functions of planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling the activities and affairs of the PCEDC. This position works directly with the president and Executive Committee to successfully perform the duties in accordance with the by-laws, established policies, strategic plans and business objectives as delegated by the Board of Directors. This position is filled following a selection process led by the Executive Committee and a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

SUPERVISION (1)

  • Administrative Assistant (part-time)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the daily operations of the PCEDC including financial management, external outreach, program support and staff supervision/development.
  • Provide services to Pierce County residents and potential businesses to expand and grow the county’s economy.
  • Lead countywide promotion and business attraction efforts.
  • Strengthen existing Business Retention and Expansion Programs.
  • Support the creation of small businesses and entrepreneurship.
  • Elevate PCEDC as the lead economic development entity in the county.
  • Represent PCEDC with local, regional, state and federal elected officials, agencies and working groups.
  • Secure funding for the corporation with the assistance of the Board of Directors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience: Position requires significant business experience, knowledge of and a passion for economic development. Prior experience with the management of an economic development corporation is preferred.

Skills: Excellent written and oral communications skills required. Position has significant external contact which requires a high degree of diplomacy, confidentiality and the ability to interact various groups and individuals. Candidates who have high levels of digital media and information literacy along with digital marketing skills will be preferred.

Conditions: Some travel, nights, weekend and irregular hours are required in the completion of responsibilities. A valid driver’s license is required.
